Moving from datacenter to cloud-based model was necessary as both a cost-saving measure and for long-term scalability and growth.

Onica devised a plan to move the large amounts of data directly from the datacenter to Amazon S3 utilizing multiple machines to process and unpack the packages of data. A program was written which allowed multiple machines to work on the project simultaneously without overlap. A custom-built AWS/Jenkins server allows for quicker deployment. The resulting infrastructure:

JibJab Media’s flagship service is their eCard division which allows users to make personalized animated cards for any occasion, and also includes an animated sticker app, childrens multi-learning platform, and many other entertainment ventures.
JibJab Media made a successful transition to AWS. Moving to AWS improved scalability for JibJab Media and allows for quick adjustment for peak traffic times and the ability to scale down appropriately after traffic spikes. Replication in another zone allows for greater disaster recovery flexibility and has improved resiliency.
